FlowVision Family at Loretta’s – Blog 3: Practice Day
Share
Today was the first time we really got to see it all come to life.
Practice day at Loretta Lynn’s is where everything shifts from planning to reality. The banners are up, the ruts are deep, and the gate feels real. The nerves start to fade, not because it’s any less intense—but because now it’s familiar. Now it’s ride time.
Landon had two sessions today—Practice 10 and 28—for the 65cc (10–11) Limited and Mod classes. That meant plenty of time in between to get dialed, watch the other classes, and soak up what this place is really about.
Group 10 went off mid-morning. The track was already starting to rough up from earlier groups, which honestly, is exactly what we wanted. Loretta’s is known for changing lap to lap, and the sooner you get used to that, the better. Landon looked solid. Not overly aggressive, just steady and smart. He flowed well, hit his marks, and came back with that small smile that lets us know: “Yeah, I felt good.”
We went over a few lines, made some minor adjustments, and then just hung out. That’s part of the rhythm here. It's not all chaos and high-speed—you’ve got to pace yourself. The Tennessee heat is no joke, and staying cool matters just as much as throttle control.
Group 28 was later in the day, and by then, the track was fully baked. Deep lines, chopped braking bumps, and some pretty big holes forming in the usual places. That’s Loretta’s. Landon rolled into staging with his usual calm, gave us the quick thumbs up, and off he went. The Mod bike looked strong and he rode with confidence—picking new lines, adjusting on the fly, and really feeling things out.
Watching your kid ride this track never gets old. Every time he comes around, there’s that flash of pride mixed with a little disbelief. Like—he's really doing this. All the work, all the drive, all the weekends... it shows in how he handles himself out there. And not just on the bike, but in the way he carries himself between motos too. Focused. Humble. Hungry.
We wrapped the day with a quick rinse-off, some solid food back in Dickson, and a low-key evening. No big talk. Just a few thoughts on the track, some laughs, and reminders to stay loose and enjoy the ride.
Tomorrow it begins. First gate drop of the week. We’re ready.
