FlowVision Family at Loretta’s – Blog 5: Race Day 2 Crash, Crashes, and One of Those Days
Share
Today was one of those days that tests you—not just as a racer, but as a family.
Landon had a full plate with Moto 1 in the 65cc (10–11) Mod class and Moto 2 in the 65cc Limited. We came into the day feeling good. The bikes were dialed, the weather was slightly more bearable, and the plan was simple—ride clean, ride smart, and build off Day 1.
The Mod moto started strong. Landon came out charging and was running as high as 12th early on. He looked aggressive, confident, and completely in it. But Loretta’s has a way of breaking rhythm fast. A couple bobbles, a missed line, and then a crash—and suddenly, everything unraveled. From 12th to buried in the pack in a matter of moments. He got up, kept riding, but never found that flow again. It stung. You could see it when he came off the track—he knew it slipped away.
Then came Moto 2 in the Limited class—a chance to reset and redeem. But it just wasn’t meant to be. A messy first lap. Another crash. Then a second one. No major injuries, but at that point, the race felt like damage control. The heat, the frustration, the bad luck—it all caught up. It ended in another rough finish.
These are the hard days. The ones that don’t show up in highlight reels but shape the rider just the same. And as much as we want every moto to be a breakthrough, the truth is—sometimes it just falls apart. The only thing you can do is show up again the next day, ready to keep swinging.
Tonight, we’re laying low. Gear’s drying in the hotel bathroom, Landon’s quiet but already thinking about the next one. He knows what he’s capable of. And we do too.
Still showing up.
