Bubba Pauli #282
Qualifying Pos. 35
Two steps forward and one step back might be the best way to describe Bubba Pauli’s race day for Round 3 in San Diego. After a week of recovery and prep, Pauli was feeling fresh. After executing the qualifying well early on things took a turn as a mishap created a high level of pain. A trip to the medical unit Pauli pulled it together and lined up for Heat 2 finishing in the 15th position. With one more chance to make the final in the LCQ the 282 machine rounded turn one in the 12th position. Digging deep and making several quick passes Pauli worked his way up into the 8th position by the time the checkered flag flew. Motivated to be at the top of his game for the up coming rounds, Pauli states his is willing to do whatever it takes to get his body feeling 100% in order to keep fighting for those main events spots.
Joan Cros #848
Qualifying Pos. 30
San Diego is one of Joan's favorite races. Being in the heart of the city with a beautiful open Petco Park stadium always brings a good atmosphere. Joan was looking to back up his performance last week where he secured his first 450 main of the season. Cros adapted to the track well and gave it his best each time he hit the track. Unfortunately, he came up just short in the LCQ with a 6th. Because this field is so competitive, no rider is guaranteed a spot every weekend and as you see, the results are different each race, even at the top. It's a tough season but makes for some great racing!
