JACOB ARGUBRIGHT TAKES 4TH OVERALL AT 2022 AMA NATIONAL HARE AND HOUND OPENER
Argubright Design Co. rider Jacob Argubright lined up for the opening round of the 2022 AMA National Hare and Hound Championship series in Lucerne Valley, CA for the 80-mile natural terrain off-road race hosted by Desert MC. Following his return to the podium at the 2021 season finale, Argubright came in with confidence to repeat his performance and maintain the momentum.

The two-day event saw cooler temperatures and a light breeze to help with the dry conditions. Lining up on the Start Line, Argubright carefully chose the line that would ideally lead him to the end of the bomb with a favorable position. As the banner dropped, Argubright quickly lit his 2022 KX450X and sprinted towards the front of the pack; landing himself in the lead at the end of the bomb.

Shortly after, a mistake in reading the terrain cost Argubright the lead, though he quickly regrouped and settled into 2nd place. The more technical than usual first loop suited Argubright’s skill level as he continued to keep the overall leader in sight. Coming into the pits less than a minute behind the leader (Taylor Robert) Argubright would take a quick splash of gas and head out onto the second and final loop.

The top three charged onto Loop 2, where Argubright would battle with third place (Joe Wasson) on the start of the loop, Argubright kept his head down focusing on his race until he would miss a turn toward the final few miles, where (Preston Cambell) would sneak by into third putting Argubright fourth overall. Argubright would continue to battle with Campbell, but would ultimately finish fourth overall on the day.

“Overall I am not stoked, but not unhappy about the day either. I hate going from first to fourth but that's how it goes sometimes with a great field of riders, and I just need to continue working hard for the next one!” Argubright stated.

Argubright currently sits 4th in points, and will head to the Sonora Rally on March 14-18, before flying up for round two of the AMA National Hare & Hound Series in Idaho.
