Jacob Argubright Wins Overall at Round 1 of AMA West ISDE Qualifier

Lake Elsinore, CA-

With hopes of qualifying for the 2019 FIM International Six Days Enduro in Portugal, Spain, Off-Road Support/TBT Suspension rider Jacob Argubright found great success this weekend in southern California at round one of the AMA West ISDE Qualifier. Hosted by Lost Coyotes MC of District 37, the event also served as round two for the AMA District 37 Sprint Enduro series.

The two day event kicked off Saturday with three tests, in which riders would take on twice in hopes of getting the fastest times. With competition from all around the region, Argubright would have to focus on smooth technique in order to come out on top. After completing all tests twice, for a total of six laps, Argubright won nearly every test for the day; putting himself at the top of the ranks heading into day two.

“Today was so much fun, and I really enjoy this format of racing, it’s refreshing! Just based on my style of racing, I am confident charging right out of the gate without knowing what to expect. I think that helped me today. Having won five out of the six tests, I knew I would need to be even more focused on Sunday to do it again,” Argubright explained.

On Sunday, Argubright returned to the start line, where he would again take on the same three tests twice. Argubright stated, “The course was burned in nicely, but it also became pretty choppy. I had a couple bobbles that I knew could hurt my time, but it’s really hard to know where you sit throughout the day. I just put my head down and did my own thing.” After another full day of racing, the results posted with Argubright in second place for the day, just 7 seconds behind the day’s leader.

Argubright’s combined performance earned him the Overall victory for the regional AMA West ISDE Qualifier series, which will contribute to his chances of qualifying for the 2019 FIM International Six Days Enduro. In parallel, Argubright now sits as the points leader for the local AMA District 37 Sprint Enduro championship.
