How to Install Motocross Goggle Tear-Offs for Clear Vision Every Ride

Properly installing your motocross goggle tear-offs ensures you can quickly remove mud, dust, and roost without taking your eyes off the race.

Step 1: Clean Your Lens

Before installing a new stack of tear-offs, make sure your lens is completely clean and dry. Dirt trapped between the lens and tear-offs can scratch your lens and reduce visibility.

Step 2: Install the Tear-Offs

Line up the holes on each side of the tear-off with the lens posts. Stack the number of tear-offs you'll need based on the track conditions. Mud races may require a larger stack, while dry conditions may only need a few.

Step 3: Fold the Pull Tab

Many experienced riders lightly fold the pull tab outward. This makes it easier to grab while wearing gloves and helps ensure a smooth pull during the race.

Step 4: Check for Smooth Operation

Pull one tear-off before heading to the starting gate to make sure the stack releases cleanly and doesn't catch on the posts.
